Experienced that first hand in a couple of projects.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Regarding XHR fallbacks, for &lt;a href="http://beaconpush.com" rel="nofollow"&gt;Beaconpush&lt;/a&gt;, we have a Flash fallback as the last resort if everything fails.
